Field of Hope, a Uganda-based organisation dedicated to strengthening agricultural education and improving food security for rural communities. Through their work with youth, smallholder farmers, and local leaders, Field of Hope equips individuals with the skills and resources needed to build sustainable livelihoods and create long-term community resilience. HATW’s partnership with Field of Hope enables us to expand our impact in Uganda by supporting locally led agricultural training and development initiatives that foster lasting change.

Many rural communities depend on agriculture for food and income, yet face constraints such as limited access to training, resources, and opportunities for young people and farmers. Changing environmental conditions, food insecurity, and economic pressures can make it difficult for families to produce enough nutritious food or develop sustainable livelihoods. In some areas, agricultural education and leadership opportunities are limited, affecting long-term resilience and growth.
Field of Hope works alongside communities to address these challenges by supporting agricultural learning, strengthening farming practices, and encouraging local leadership.
For me, this wasn’t just training, it was a call to lead with purpose and courage.Walter Okullu, reflecting on how he applies his training through Field of Hope to strengthen rural communities in Uganda.

Hands Around the World has partnered with Field of Hope to deliver a clean water and community training project in the Kwania community in rural Uganda. The project will provide a reliable source of safe drinking water through the drilling of a borehole, alongside training for community members in water management and sustainable usage. Supported by HATW and implemented by Field of Hope Uganda, the initiative aims to improve health, strengthen local capacity, and support long-term community resilience through access to clean water and practical skills.
