Pizz is a school and social support centre in the small town of Monze in southern Zambia.
400 orphaned and vulnerable children from the town, aged 5 to 14, attend the school and another 80+ who have moved on to secondary school and 2 who are at university continue to be supported.
What is HATW involvement?
HATW first became involved in 2005, with some financial support and later UK volunteers helped to construct classroom buildings. It has provided equipment and support to develop the work, sourcing funds to pay teachers and other staff, arranging for school lunches for all, and enabling volunteers to run holiday clubs. Many of the children are supported through our Hand-in-Hand sponsorship scheme, but we need a lot more sponsors.
Child friendly people to help with holiday clubs at Easter and in August, painters, decorators, carers and encouragers all year round
